Mothers often ask us about the prevention of stretch marks of the abdomen during pregnancy.  Is it true that using a stretch mark cream can prevent these unwanted marks from forming? The answer is that these marks occur because the skin looses its elasticity.  Rapid growth of the abdomen can come from rapid or excessive weight gain and may be hereditary.  Stretch mark creams when used often can certainly add some elasticity and will help with itchiness.
